Aphra - Colchester agency headshots

In 2022 headshots were firmly at the top of my list of things to improve and do a lot more of. Luckily with my workplace doing a little refresh on their website, i was able to introduce some new headshots which helped give off a more professional look and also indicate that as a service, it’s something they can offer to existing and future clients.

The the style was to be shot on black with enough light to make the subject stand out from the background but also so the shots can be easily replicated in the future.

I opted to use a clamshell lighting setup, which i would normally use for the basics of a beauty portrait. With this setup, i know that there is enough light being cast on the subject and if need be i can add a kicker light into the mix to bring out features.

We then opted to pop into Mimosa of Colchester for an hour, to get a few more relaxed portraits - this was dampened by the wet weather and the very low lighting throughout the venue bar one spot by the sliding door and the entrance. We kept it simple and used the window light for a lighter feel that the studio portraits.
