Christmas Wrapped Up

Earlier in September, i was asked along to shoot a quick promo video and some portraits at a Christmas Tree farm for a friend. The venue was nice and different to the norm. The models that attended were Kelly O’Donoghue and Liberty Mercz - Two lovely ladies that over the latter part of this year, i have been lucky enough to call them friends.

Kelly and Liberty got in touch with me after this shoot to see if i would shoot some Christmas specific photos for them and the venues shop ‘Christmas Wrapped Up’ based in Essex.

I was quick to say yes as the shop is full to the brim of decorations and i knew we could get some cool shots if everything went to plan. The downfall of this was, that we had to shoot this the week after our Halloween shoot! Talk about getting in the Christmas spirit fast!

I asked my good friend Paul to join in with the shoot as i never like having a model wait around whilst i shoot. Plus its always fun when me and Paul work together!.

We were lucky enough to have full reign of the shop whilst there were no customers booked in, and we made use of the decorations and lighting available. We opted to use the Godox AD200 in an Octabox for most of the shots - matching the light to the ambient light in the room.

The girls had a great choice of clothing with them and we managed to shoot enough portraits and shop based images for everyone to be happy. Once the day was coming to an end, we moved outside to the Christmas trees where we experimented with smoke bombs… everything’s better with coloured smoke!… right?
